Going to the dark side.... Carb to HP EFI
Well I will be making the switch over the "off season" from my Demon 1000cfm 4150 carb to Holley HP EFI with the Edelbrock 1000cfm 4150 TB.
I've read all the "cooling charge effects" statements on multiple websites on how the carb gives the advantage over the Multiport EFI. But I have yet to see a back to back real world test. (1000cfm carb vs 1000cfm TB on the same intake)
I'm hoping to pick up a little on the 60ft side of things using the EFI vs the Carb,
But time will tell...
Ended up getting an aeromotive 18660 stealth fuel system to compliment the swap for $750.00...
Holley HP EFI w/ Harness I found for $840.00
Fuel rails I snagged for $75.00
And I have some Lucas 42# injectors from previous projects from my other cars sitting around.

funny, I may go the other way-after years of blowthru carbs, I tried the Holley HP (6.0, LS 3 heads, intake, 92mm TB) the whole summer has been frustrating for me-couldn't get rid of an off idle hesitation, sometimes it would just quit for no reason, then run fine, etc-i am not much of a computer person, and that hurt-if something fails, I have to phy. see it
there are a lot of great things about the HP, data logging at the top, adjustability, set the AFR where you want it, self learning, etc
for me there is just to many buttons to push, lol
I set it up for internal datalogging, easier than dragging a laptop around all the time
will be interesting to see how yours works out-I suspect with a 4 hole TB in might run better, with the V2 upgrade it seemed to hurt the single blade TB with the accel. enrichment

I want and know that EFI is better, but, I have settled on blowthrough carb for simplicity, familiarity, snd ease of tuning. and yes I run non intercooled too.
absolutely no complaints about performance or driveability, so really it all comes down to what you are most comfortable tuning.
Good luck, snd keep us carb section guys informed on how you make out with it! I for 1 am VERY interested in the direct comparison, and your experience learning to tune with it.

I went with the Aeromotive Stealth Fuel system with an A1000 pump and 15 gal cell. -12 AN Feed to a 10 Micron Filter -10AN To a 3.5' section of -8AN into the Edelbrock rails... Using all 3/8NPT/-6AN fittings in the rails then returning to an Aeromotive 13101 Regulator... Returning to the tank with -8an....
I've been through Tuning school Begineers and Advanced classes and Calibrated success... Tuned a few OE ECM cars prior to this. (Pullied ZR1's, H/C LSX, GT21 Cam C6Z, Nitrous C6Z, H/C Firehawks, etc...including my own cars...) To be honest EFI feels more AT home then a carb to me and Im hoping the Holley system is as "flexible" as they claim..
Even tho the King Demon 1000 4150 carb was simple to work on compared to the needle carbs in my 1997 Yamaha Vmax motorcycle.
Im guessing the car is going to 60' harder due to a cleaner AFR off the line vs the carb.

Well tuff luck... while backing the car out of the trailer to start swapping in the new fuel system, SLR lifters, and HP EFI it snapped the head off of a valve and destroyed #6 piston and beat up the heads a bit...
Apparently when I broke a valve spring at the beginning of the season in 2013 it must have met the piston a little bit and finally wore out.
So now Ill be going with a Forged 370 using the spare short block I had (for a rainy day)... The trickflow heads are on their way to TEA for repair, then to BTR for a port job. Ill be running a Super Vic rather than the Vic Jr.
And Im debating bumping up the compression to 12:1 and going E85.
