Default LS breather question..

Would this work? Eliminating the breathers on the valve covers and running one on the valley cover? Could I run a self returning "catch can" by building a box under the valley cover filled with ss wool and vent out the top?
I plan to vent to the atmosphere.

Does much oil drain back into the valley anyway? Considering the lifter trays are sealed off at the head gasket, can't imagine all that would even be necessary and should be able to plumb breathers without need for an extensive baffle system.
