Default Carbed hood issues

I am adding a carb to my 2000 camaro ls1. I cut the cowl back and have everything the way i want it. My question is what is everyone doing with there hoods? Im ok with going to a glass hood i just don't know which one works best. The stock hood is on it now and when you cut the cowl and leave the plastic by the window off and close the hood you can see the motor. Not really the look i was going for.LOL.... I don't want to put the plastic back on so i need a hood that extends back further and a 3 or 4" rise off course any help would be appreciated.Carbed hood issues-image.jpg

VFN extendedSunoco lift off.

If your on any of the edelbrock intakes the standard 4" is plenty.

Im running the vfn 4"cowl hood. clears it big time, but it doesn't extend to the windshield, so you can see in the bay. im thinking of going with the vfn mike moran hood. looks killer!, and it extends to the windshield.
