Default Should I have continuity across +/- at fuel pump ?

Never paid it any attention on any other car I put an electric fuel pump on but I was checking over my wiring as I go and noticed I'm getting continuity between power and ground on my brand new holley hp125. Is this normal or should I be shipping this thing back to summit first thing tomorrow ?

There should be some resistance, not a direct short...

Had a feeling it wasn't right, I'll give them a call in the morning and see what they say.

Its normal, If you didn't have continuity the pump wouldn't run.

I'm ASSuming he's checking across the pump terminals. In fact, the more amps the pump pulls, the less the resistance across those terminals. According to Ohm's law, at 12v a 10 amp draw would show only 1.2 ohms...

Should be a very low resistance when not running, just a couple of ohms. As the pump runs the "resistance" gets higher due to the interaction of the magnetic fields and the motor wiring.

But don't over complicate things, just hook up power and see if it runs.
