Default 4th gen swap to smaller I4 turbo engine?

LS1Tech is the wrong place to put this and I expect to get flamed so go for it. I am wondering what small engines would be a direct swap into a v6 camaro body?

I have a porsche 944 that I'm putting a ls1 in and that is my track car. Its going to sit around 2700 lbs and 450-475 rwhp 383 stroker when I'm done. It'll be fun. I am now looking for a daily driver that gets good gas mileage. I was originally going to go for a civic hatch but they're in high demand and cost too much.

This is theoretical as of now but I was thinking about dropping a small engine into a 4th gen camaro since there are camaro's all over craigslist for cheap. I could run a small turbo or twin turbo setup that I can turn on when I want the power. I can tune the turbo to still have good mpg when I'm going for mpg. Any thoughts?

The car would be too heavy imo for a 4 banger. The boost would help a little, but I still think it would be too heavy. Plus all of the custom fab work and this and that would cost a ton. With that money you could have probably bought 3 DD hondas. I wouldn't do it.

You can find V6's for super cheap, so if you want to try and do an I4 swap, keep it in the family. Maybe go with the Ecotec out of the Cobalt SS turbo versions.
