99 Camaro Z28 Alternator problem?

99 Camaro Z28 Alternator problem? So i was driving to the gas station the other day and suddenly all the electronics in my car started to malfunction every thing turned off but the car stayed on but ran really rough. I drove it back home and shut it off would not start up again battery was completely dead. So i bought a new battery i started it drove to autozone before i left i checked the voltage and it was near 12.7, while i was driving i noticed that the voltage was dropping lower drove nack home and the battery is dead. So im wondering is it the alternator or something else like a bad ground?
