Picked up my 01 z28 A4 Tuesday night, with minor damage to the front end. Also has a ticking sound that I need help to diagnose. The guy I bought the car from seemed to think it was a lifter, but a friend and I are thinking it's a broken flexplate. Sound is pretty loud, increases it's repetition with RPM, and is louder from underneath the car. Does this sound like a broken flexplate to anyone else? From what I've read it isn't an uncommon problem with these cars, and if it is the problem, I'll probably be going with a TCI. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
