99 camaro.ss?

99 camaro.ss? I just bought a 99 convertible Camaro, and told it was a Ss. But it's missing the ss on the front grill and there no sticker on the door to check. What other ways beside the sticker on the door, can you tell iF it's a real ss? I'll post picture of her soon thanks.

You can go to any GM dealer with the VIN number and ask the parts department to run a VIS report for the VIN because the SPID sticker is no longer present. That report will contain all the RPOs, and if "WU8" is present then it's an original SS. You could also contact SLP and see if that VIN number is in their converison records. VIN/RPO verification is the only way to know for sure as all the other SS items could have been added or removed over the years.

Thanks, right now I'm at work but I have this picture, not sure if it helps not that good of a photo but all I have at the moment
