Need Advice for 99 Camaro V6 3.8L
Just replaced the fuel pump in July 2013. Now my car has been hard starting for about a month. I had it read with a code reader and the code was P0300. The fuel pressure test was, once the car was running - it read 45PSI. As soon as you turned the car off, it dropped to 25PSI with in seconds. Just today, I took the car to a trusted mechanic and he said he was pretty sure it was my fuel pump. I had him replace the fuel pump and I also had him do an oil change and a once over on the car to make sure nothing else was wrong. Got in the car this evening to go to the store and it is hard starting again! WHAT COULD IT BE?? CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE???

What is the quality of these fuel pumps? OE brand (Delphi) or one of the cheaper aftermarket brands? The cheaper brands tend to be much more prone to premature failure, but even still they should certainly last much more than a day.
Did he change your fuel filter at the same time as the new pump?
Or perhaps it was just a bad-out-of-the-box new pump. Sometimes this happens, and if so you should be covered by a warranty since it's just been done. But you'll need to take it back and have him check fuel pressure again.
