Do exhaust tips affect your car sound?

Do exhaust tips affect your car sound? I currently have the SLP loudmouth exhaust on my 2000 SS CAMARO. They are the single tips but I kinda like the way the tips on the stock exhaust look more. I think there a little smaller. If I switch em will that affect sound/hp/performance ?
