Default 99 ls1 camaro. 4th gen motor

What's up guys. I have a 4th gen iron block 408 that I just picked up today. It has the 24x wheel and the half moon cam gear with cam sensor on from of the motor. I just need to know what I need to do to put this in the 99camaro. Also where should I out the knock sensors now as we'll? Do I just need a particular adapter harness for the cam sensor and knock sensors. Last but not least what about the alternator? I have one hole on the front of the motor.

Well does it have a knock sensor location in the valley? If not then yes you will have to locate them to the sides...Whether or not the ls1 sensors willl actually work well there is another story, a lot of people just delete them in that case.

You will also need a cam extension harness if you have the cam sensor on the front of the engine. Does the engine has a 1 bolt or 3 bolt cam? Either way order a 3 bolt cam and the timing set to match, I honestly can remember if the early gen IV gears will work and a new one is either included or dirtt cheap anyway.

The harnesses can be bought fromquite a few places just doa google search, I got mine for my ls3 from caspers

I wouldnt worry about the alt hole, lot of people dont tap the block and are just fine.

Taping the block is very easy there is an ear that you drill into. Not 100% necessary though. Pretty common swap so there are a lot of aftermarket extension harnesses available for all the sensors.
