Default LS swap 69 camaro advise on where to go

Hello everyone... just got a new chassis in my 69 Camaro… was ready for installing a LS through a hotrod shop and fell over on the cost. Going to have to ask them to put everything back in and call it a day.

Was hoping there is a shop around that could do this at a reasonable cost otherwise back to wishing on winning the lottery and that has not gone well! I will send the car anywhere in the USA.

What do you guys think a complete turn key solution would cost? Need engine, transmission, steering, gauges, complete wiring.. bla, bla, bla...? Looking at around something like an LS 6.2 Liter - with 6speed Automatic Transmission. Used or what ever to cut down cost. Trying to convenience myself to do it but it is really way out of my league. Was thinking 10K max, i'm I way wrong.

Attached a few pics before putting the body back on the chassis

Thanks,
Johnny

You can find a used ls1/4l60e combo for 2,500-3,000

Unless you are dead set on the newer ls3/l92 engine then 10k is out of budget if you aren't doing the work yourself

Default Ls swap

I have installed a new LS3, trans. Etc,etc and with all the required parts to complete a full LS swap I will exceed 10,000. This is with all new stuff, headers, exhaust ,wiring, fuel system, hydraulic clutch and misc. fabrication all done by myself. With the looks of the quality of build you have started and with a shop doing the work you could be looking at 14 to 15,000 unless you can find good deals on used equipment. It adds up quick!

I have about $7K in swapping in a carbed 6.0L (LQ4) with rebuilding the LQ4, added LS3 heads, swap parts, kept the TH350, ETC, ETC....I could see paying someone else double that easily.... (depending where you live).

Subtract the re-build and heads....it would be about $4K for the swap....but I wanted a know, good engine to beat on

With the subframe out & the front sheetmetal off, this would be the easiest time to do the swap. There is a lot more to it than buying the motor & trans. If you are not set on an LS3, and LS1 and trans from a 98-02 F body is an excellent fit. If you give me the details on your subframe, I can probably put a parts list together for you. Looks like C5 or C6 suspension? I dont see any motor mounts, are they weld on?
