Is this gap normal?

If you can't bring it forward with the adjuster it looks like you can move the bracket on the left to in front and space out from the one coming off of the core support. I know you would like them to just fit what they are made to fit, but often aftermarket parts are require customizing. I'd take that over molding plastic without guidance.

The adjuster is maxed out. Ill have to try putting the bracket on the other side of it
