Default 1972 t56 swap starter

I have a 72 camaro that in swapping from an auto to t56. I have the McLeod flywheel for my 2 piece rear main seal, but now starter won't reach the teeth, or fit in the bellhousing. The starter bolt pattern is offset so the 95 camaro starter (where trans came from) won't line up. I can't find anyone who knows anything about it so hoping you can help.

the old flywheel was 14 inches, the new is 12.8 so obviously the starter won't reach it. So far have tried the standard 1972 starter for manual which also didn't work.

Why did you change the flywheel size?

It is the flywheel necessary to match my two piece rear main seal with the t56 transmission. It is the McLeod option. The bellhousing for the trans wouldn't fit the starter or 14" flywheel anyway so I didn't have a choice

My block doesn't have threads in the extra hole. It only has threads for the diagonal starter
