what gears in the rear end of a 95 Z28?
its for my friends camaro, its a 1995 Z28 and it doesn't have any RPO codes on the inside of the drivers door, how can i tell what gears its got in the rear end without actually having to count it out or take it apart? I don't know much about these LT1s
thanks,

Autos in all V-8 F-bodies came standard with a rear end ratio of 2.73. Optional was 3.23. It you drive 60 MPH in OD, with 2.73's the RPM's should be around 1500. If it has 3.23's it will be more like 1800.

I heard the way to tell is to do the following:
Drive 70 MPH, downshift to 3rd, and your RPM's tell you your gear ratio. I don't know if this works or not, my car is out of comission right now. But if you have 3.42, according to this hearsay, your RPMs should be 3420. Anyone confirm deny?
