Default fuel pump replacement 99 camaro

Hi,
I have a 99 SS Camaro. While tuning the new LS2, I ran into a fuel pressure issue. I purchased a racetronics fuel pump and need to install it. I don't want to drop the tank to do this.

My question is:
Can I cut an access panel above the tank from inside the car?
Has anyone done this?
What do I need to look out for?
Does anyone have pictures of the underside with the tank out?

Thanks in advance
Al
