Default 20K for a 3rd gen!?!?!?

I was bored, and started to look up Camaro's on Autotrader. There are a load of 3rd Gens that are way up there in price.

Example Here

Almost every 92 listed says it's an Anniversary Edition when it's not, it's just a 92 model, not a Heritage Edition. My car is a 97, I dont tell everyone it's an Anniversary Edition. There are Z28's with 70K going for 12K......Who the hell would pay that much for a high mileage 3rd Gen?? The "collector value" of these cars has not kicked in yet, so am I missing something??

i personally would pay 20k for that car if it was IMMACULATE like new car smell was still present inside and such. 3rd gens have always held their value, a 91-92 will cost more than a 93-95 lt1 4th gen in a lot of cases for the same condition.

I wouldnt give that for a thirdgen. No way.

Ive owned many and I know how they are and I wouldnt pay anything over $4k for ANY thirdgen in stock condition. Even if it has 8500 miles on it and is a 25th Anniversary.

it looks clean from the picks and info.

anyone know how much those aniversary models are worth?
do they hold their value at all?

I like 3rd Gen's, still have one as my daily driver. I wouldn't pay $19,500 for the car listed or anywhere close to it. A mint Tubro 89 T/A might be worth $20,000

That car isn't intended to sell to the person who is making a reasoned decision about the best car for the $. It is for the person who wants a 3rd gen camaro that makes you feel like it's 1992 (or 1990, or 1987, or whatever year) all over again.

Think about it - supply and demand. While there is not a lot of demand out there for time warp showroom condition 3rd gens, there is some - I win the lottery (or hit a big $ case after law school) and I'm going to be looking for the perfect IROC-Z 350 with T-Tops So there is some demand. And there is next to zero supply - when's the last time you saw a 3rd Gen with under 10K miles?

For the person that just wants a 3rd gen to knock around in, this isn't his car. This car is for the person who wants to have an experience as close as possible to getting in a time machine and going to a chevy dealer in 1992 and picking up the brand new 3rd gen he wanted then but couldn't afford.

If you're gonna pay the big bucks, you want it to have the RIGHT engine!
