99 ls1 4l60e in a 96 lt1 caprice
Does anyone know what I need to make this work? Wiring, crossmember, driveshaft, and mounting to engine? Any help would be great. Thanks Tom

I'm currently doing basically the same install except mine is a 95 caprice LT1. I'm installing a LS6 out of a 2004 corvette.
I modified the stock transmission crossmember to look like this.
As for the wiring harness...I just finished this lengthy process....but I combined the corvette harness into my caprice harness (i didn't want to loose my gauge functionality). I haven't fired it up yet, but in theory it should work.
The A/C lines are next up.
Good luck with your project.

use s&p motor mounts.
u can either use the lh8 pan (hangs about a inch to low) or s &p can make a custom f-body pan that looks great.
speartech or wire yourself....depending on what u feel comfortable doing.......possible a new driveshaft ...thats about it.
headers....are a touchy subject as far as iam concerned!
lots of us doing it hell mine included makes 3 b-bodies doing it at this current time all within the same club!
hey get on www.impalassforum.com in the engine performance section search and u will get MORE then a days worth of reading about the swaps.

It will require an adaptor and a special flywheel which I'm not sure is available because the normal route is to install a older tranny behind the newer engines, not the other way around. Probably easier and cheaper to just get the LT1 4l60E rebuilt.
