Default 6.0l

OK guys, I've been doing a bunch of reading on using a truck motor in place of an LS1. I just got a lead on a possible 6.0L and kind of need to act quick which is why I'm asking now vs. doing a little more research. Here's the deal, my buddy's dad has a 04 or 05 (he's not exactly sure) that he thinks is a 6.0L. First of all, how do I tell exactly what displacement this thing is just by looking at the motor? Any coding to look at? The motor has ~40k on it and he wants $1k for it w/all accessories; is this a good price? Lastly, will a T56 mate up to this with your standard wiring adjustments (meaning the same way you'd do it for a 5.3L)? My intention is to put this setup in my 63 Chevy II. Thanks a bunch.

The T-56 will bolt up just like any of the other LS engines. On the front of the block on the drivers side there should be 6.0L molded into the block. That is a good price on a 6.0L with all the accessories. I paid more for mine than that.
