Stock tach with a LS1 in a first gen?
Anybody using a stock tach in a 69 with a LS conversion? I am trying to figure out if I just want to by a stock tach and a fuel gauge as opposed to to hacking up the dash panel with aftermarket gauges. The speedo would run of an auto-x box.

I was looking online to buy a factory replacement and it says you need a MSD conversion to run a HEI. I am not sure what they are talking about or what I need to do if I buy this to get it to work. I was running a Autometer before with a TPI setup. I do want my dash to not be hacked up. Anybody else?

67rsss is using a stock (repro? not sure) tach with his. You'll need to cut the tach multipliers in half using HPTuners or EFILive. If you don't get any reading, you may need a pull-up resistor.

Good to know. Thanks. I thought I needed to use something like this from Dakota Digital:

I have Tunercat so no worries there. I also found this:
