Default Carbed 2nd gen questions

I've searched and searched. Lots of info, but didn't find the answer.

I'm thinking of doing a carbed l92 with a muncie 4 speed in a 73 camaro. Does anyone have any picts of this setup and will it fit under the stock flat hood?

Thanks,
m6z

I could be wrong, but I don't think it will fit under the stock hood unless you lower the engine. I have not done this particular swap, but I remember in my old 81 camaro with a sbc the performer rpm intake would barely clear the stock flat hood and I have to use one of the little triangle shaped foam/mesh filters to make it happen.

I was thinking that there wasn't much hood clearance. Thanks for the fast reply. Guess I'll have to go with injection or stick with a gen 1 sb.

Why not just get a cowl hood?

The car it would be going in, just had a $6k paint job, just needs a motor & trans, plus I've never liked the cowl hoods on the 2nd gens.

Well before you just give up on it you should give this thread a little time to see someone with personal experience with this same swap chimes in.
