Dry sump & accessory drive I'm building an LS2 for road racing and I'm trying to figure out which accessory drive (F-body or corvette) is better to run a dry sump system. I'm looking into the AVIAID system which uses the factory oil pump on the pressure side. I vaguely recall reading somewhere that the F-body accessory drive was easier to work with.
At this point I have a block and a set of heads. I don't have any parts from a vette or camaro that I'm trying to re-use. So I'm open either way.
The motor is going in a 1999 Mustang.

The corvette accesory drive is closer to the block, the F-body sits out another 0.75"
If you are going with a new set up, request one for a corvette and enjoy the extra space in your engine bay. I'm sure aviad and armstrong could both accomadate.
One other thought is to run a LS7 crank, dual stage oil pump and pan, and then run a 2-3 stage external scavenge only pump. This would give you some insurance if you ever lost your external belt.
