Default v6-ls1

i just bought an ls1 to swap into my 4.3 silverado. it is just a longblock(water pump, intake, fuel rails, injectors, internals). what would i need to get this up and running? also, would my 4l60e hook up to this and hold or will i need a new tranny? it did not have an oil pan either. would i be fine with a stock ls1 oil pan, or would i need something else to fit my truck?

I'm not sure about the trans, butt you do need a new standalone wiring, a truck oil pan, the front accessories for the truck engine, the Camaro style alternator want fit with the frame on your truck. i did this work on a 2002 Tahoe truck. its a big job....

^^ Why would an 02 Tahoe be a big job? AFAIK they only come with the LS style engine so what swapping would there be there??

As far as the thread starter here I would think the easiest way would be to use the factory parts. If this is a newer body style truck, then Gm already did they conversion (they sold millions) for you so I wouldn't waste time like its a custom swap. Get a factory truck 5.3 harness, accessories etc and put it together.

Give me that LS motor, and I will give you in return a bigger motor that can make more power, that will fit right in that V6's spot with no problems.

Hence the LQ4.
