I'll update with a ton of pictures as I do it. I'm a member of a malibu site, and a few dozen folks have done these G body swaps on there, so I'm copy catting them. Mine is going to be a 2001 5.3 with a 2006 4L60. Both are around 80K miles (picking them up tomorrow). I'm going to run the CTS-V pan with some type of manifold or header (I have a couple sets of manifolds to try first. I've heard F-body manifolds are fine) and transdapt mounts and a tubular trans crossmember. This will be for a cool street driver with coolness, quick starting, and decent mileage being the main goals, and an occasional auto-x or drag race weekend here and there.

Is there any cheap-o stuff I can do to my 5.3 while I'm waiting for parts to arrive? I'm hoping to just slap whatever gaskets it needs in it, snap a pan on it, and slam it home. Once the engine and trans are set, I'm tackling an 8.8 mustang rear in it, and then I'm (hopefully) done with the drivetrain for a bit.
