Thumbs up G-body wiring

Does anyone have or know where to get a harness for Ls1 based engines for G-body. It needs to make all the dash and electrics work.

I don`t think anyone offers a plug and play harness. Speartech and wait4meperformance can re-work a factory harness but you would still have to connect up a few wires.

Or you can do like I did an re-work the factory harness. What year/bodystyle/engine is your G-Body? I might have all the info you need already.

use a standalone harness for the LS1 engine. use the stock senders and wiring for the stock gauges. Find places for the mech senders on the LS1 engine.

I'm tryin to get a '86 Chevy Elcamino up and goin with a '03 5.3L/4l60trans trk combo. I have all of the acc. and the wiring harness. Will I have to join the two harnesses to get everything from dash gauges and lights to electric fans to work right.

Thanks, Chris

You likely won't use much of the stock G-Body harness, just keyed power, and the wiring from the sending units to the gauges (oil pressure & water temp)... far as all that goes you could just use those 3 wires, but you'll also need the wiring to power the rest of the car (interior lighting, power to the column, headlight switch, wipers if you use them, etc.).
