Should I stick with a 1999 PCM and harness or try to use something newer?
I have a 1999 Corvette engine with a 4L80E transmission. I have the wiring harness that controls the engine and a 4L60E trans. The PCM plug got pulled off the harness, so I need to wire new PCM plugs onto the harness (and wire in/program for the 4L80E.) I also need to buy a new PCM, which I can get flashed with whatever programming I want. The car is drive-by-wire, and I am trying to get to 600hp with a supercharger.
I really don't know where to start. I am comfortable with getting a pin-out list and a schematic and wiring new PCM plugs on. I read that the 0411 PCM is better, because it allows more programming options and has a better OS. Is the 0411 the '02+ PCM?
If I do go with this newer and better (than a 1999) PCM, I am guessing that I will need to wire the PCM plug differently. Is that correct?
It seems like the easiest thing to do would be to wire my harness to a 1999 Corvette pin-out diagram and buy a 1999 PCM programmed for a 1999 Corvette. But because I have to buy a new PCM and rewire my harness anyway, should I take advantage of some of the improvements of the later PCMs?
BTW, I have searched around a lot and cannot find anything to really bring all this stuff together for me. It seems like people discuss the F-body and truck PCM/harness a lot more than the drive-by-wire vette. Some of you guys have forgot more LS1 wiring than I will ever know. You're the ones that are equiped to answer this questions!

I believe the 0411 pcm came in the corvette (2001 - 2003)and the Z06 (2001 - 2003) among TONS other vehicle. Don't all vettes have DBW from the factory? If so then you can just get a 0411 out of anything and reflash it with the correct OS and wire your harness properly. I use the 0411 pcm for ALL my swaps but they are all NON-DBW setups. Its just easier.
