Smile GTO project

Will a T-56 removed from an LT-1 fit on a newer LS2 or LQ4 block? Also what are the diff. between a 6.0 LS2 (GTO) and a 6.0 LQ4 (03' truck)? I have a 71 GTO. I want to install an LS2/6-speed from a GTO (at least 5 grand), but would like to know what all my options are. What would you do?

The short answer is no, at least not without spending enough to make it worthwhile to start with a LS version of the T-56

The GTO 6 liter has an aluminum block. The LQ4 has an iron block
