Default LSX454 Crate Motor Availability?

Has anyone heard when the new LSX 454 Crate Motor is going to be available and the price? Pace's website lists it as late October, but I wouldn't doubt that GM's financial issues may have dropped the production of the engine to the bottom of the "To Do" list.

Not that 454. Those are all the big block 454 motors. The LSX 454 is an LS based 454 cubic inch motor the same outer dimensions as our LS1 motors. Iron block, stroked and bored. I found this on the GM Performance website. No complete short or long blocks though.

LSX Bare Block MSRP $2,704.29
Part number 19166454
LSX Bowtie Block (Standard Deck)
3.990 finished siamese cylinder bores (ready to be honed to your specifications)
9.26 semi-finished standard deck height (ready to be decked to your specifications)
Max 4.250 recommended stroke
Capable of 364 to 482+ cid
Orange powder coat finish
Accepts all Gen III & IV LS heads, cranks, cams, etc.
Approximate finished weight: 225 lbs.

The LSX Block includes the following:
19166177 Cam Thrust Plate
19166178 LSX Rear Cover
19166182 Tappet Guides

Nice Firehawk by the way.

Any idea if it's going to be assembled by GM or some cheap hole in the wall contractor with no quality control like all the Gen I crate engines?

The normal reman crate engines are different than the GMPP crate engines. I am not sure who is building them so I can not give you a good answer, sorry.
