Default bellhousing bolt question

when I bought my engine it was already seperated from the trans and did not come with the 8 bolts that connect the engine to the trans. I went to the dealer and the told me I needed a bolt M12X1.75X45, 10.9 They dont fit at all seems like it should be a 10mm anyone know what length.

They should be M10x1.5x40 is what I used, think I bought them at Home Depot, you don't necessarily have to buy bolts at the dealer.

Default home depot

The problem with home depot or Lowes is that the plating on their fasteners is typically zinc. Long term, galvanic corrosion will set in and could make disassembly a real chore. GM like the rest of the OEMs uses proprietary plating to prevent such a thing from happening. Plus the bolt will say 10.9 and you know it's 10.9. Home Depot? Who knows, the crap is made in China.

No matter what kind of bolt you use, put a dab of never-sieze on them, it will help disassembly later.....I use it on every bolt for an aluminum or steel engine, except the internals obviously...
