Straight out of the Neapco catalog I have, it is a conversion joint to adapt a Spicer 1350 to a Saginaw S44.

There is no real world vehicle application for this joint.

Its a conversion joint for chevrolet 1/2 ton trucks who swapped out the old 10 bolt for a semi floating 14 bolt rear end and use the same drive shaft.

Lots of '82-up F-car owners need that if they want to connect a 12-bolt to a stock style driveshaft, for whatever reason.
