Default Carbed Vacuum

Hey guys,

I have gotten the Edelbrock Intake with MSD controller Kit for my 5.3L.
The carb that I want to put on there is a Edelbrock carb. Either the one I have (1406) or possible a larger one.

My question is, what vacuum line are you connecting to your carb?

On 1st gen SBCs you connected the 3 ports on the front of carb from left to right,
#1 was timed vacuum (Distrib vacuum advanced emissions)
#2 center was PCV port
#3 was time vacuum (Distrib vacuum advanced non-emissions)

So, now on the LSx model engines is there a PCV port?
and since we don't have distributors now what do we hook the other ports up to?

I ran a PCV set up on mine. Usually a good idea.

I also ran an unported vac line to a MAP sensor feeding the ignition box. That allows you to add vacuum advance, also generally considered a good idea.

One of your ports should have vacuum all the time. That is the one you want to use to feed the ignition box MAP sensor.
