Default tube headers or cast iron ...???

I need to tuck my exhaust outlet in 2+ inches to clear the steering knuckle on my Volvo conversion.

I have a set of slightly damaged SLP GTO headers, and a set of GTO cast maifolds.

I have to decide whether I should I cut up the tube headers somehow at the flange, or cut the whole flange off the cast iron, machine it at an angle, and weld it back to the original cast flange.

Looking for someone who has some experience with that.

Part of the decision is I can repair the tube headers easy enough and sell them and put some money back into the project....
