Default MAF/throttle body position, close or not?

Lots of opinions out there on this one. Can I mount a MAF right against the throttle body? I want to split off at the throttle body with a "Y" and run twin air filters in front of the radiator, but simply do not have the space to put the MAF 9 inches in front of the throttle body.

Default

you can do that but maybe you will be better off without a MAF and running on a speed density ECU tune.

I had the best results with my MAF farthest away from the TB as possible, even like 2' down my CAI tube and the IAT even a little farther really helped out in making my LS1 run well and come to life.
