Default issue with 98 auto ls1 harness on 02 5.3/4l60e

I bought a 02 5.3/4l60e swap complete minus wiring and pcm that i am going to swap into my 98 ford ranger. Soo i bought a 98 auto ls1 PCM and wiring harness. Im using a ls6 intake, cable opp TB, and Ls6 injectors, soo thats not an issue, i know the water temp and oil pressure sensors need to be swapped to the 98 style ones due to the connector differences between the 98,,, and 99-02 harnesses. (figured that one out on my Ls1/fd swap) Soo only other problem is the gear selector module on the driverside of the 4l60e. Theres not a plug anywhere on my harness that comes close to fitting and theres two recepticles on it. I provided a pic for reference of what im speaking of. Do i even need to use that sensor when running a standolone harness? The harness has the round green connector that plugged into the trans on the passenger side like it should. Am i missing some of my harness or does this sensor plug into the chassis wiring? The harness is clean and uncut 100% for sure. I was about to start modifying it untill i ran into this problem. thanks

Also, while i am at it, what is sensor plug # 34 in this diagram? http://www.ls1fc.com/pdfs/LS1HarnessID.pdf My harness has it as well, but i have nothing for it. Its an oval plug with about 5 wires in it. its located on the loom that runs down the passenger side injectors to the AC compressor.

That's because you have a truck transmission and a car harness, the cars have that switch built in the floor shifter.

Soo how do i go about making this work for me? Do i just disreguard it? I know the Ls1/auto rx7 guys arent wiring in any weird switches to their shifters. Unless im totally wrong, my other car is a Ls1/rx7 but its a 6 speed.

technically i could get away without using it because if that switch is built into the car's floor shifter... How are other people with 4l60e's making it work in a non GM chassis?

In short no you don't need it. It provides the reverse lights, neutral safety switch, dash indicator and tells the pcm what gear you are in.
