Default steam vent tube hose

Hello,

May sound like an odd question but here goes..

I am putting a LS1 into a 65 Impala....

Basically LS1 engine with the stock radiator. I need to add about 6" to the steam vent hose. It appears to be different sizes on each side. One side goes to the radiator and the other to the metal tube. Donor car is a 2003 Firebird.

Should I just use size hose on the metal tube and heat it up to go on the radiator side? I am unsure if I am making a big deal of nothing.
