Question Anyone do a Low RPM/Max Torque L92?

I have a need for a low RPM (3000 max) engine for a project I'm working on. I'm thinking a cam swap for sure, but a 4.0 stroke crank is not out of the question. I need as much power as I can get from 2400 to 3000 RPM.

I know this is not the direction most people go with these engines, but if it has been done, seems like this would be the place.

Thanks

Mike

Boat? Air boat? Small Plane?

Anyhoo, a stroker with 5.3 heads ought to be a good start.

Well, test stand for the start. If it can swing a propeller, then perhaps it will fly.

Currently running a stock 6L cam in an LS7 short motor with L92 heads and LS3 intake and it peaks at around 3000-3200 rpm for torque: just to see what it would do; LS7 cam/heads goes back in soon. Somewhere around 470-500lbft/290-300HP at 11.5:1 CR. Its a torque monster from 1500 thru 5000rpm.

That's pretty impressive - I'll be the L92 intake would even give it more low end grunt. These are flywheel numbers, right?

Any chance you have a dyno chart for your combo?
