Default Putting a turbo 400 out back

I've recently decided to do a ls conversion on my 79 malibu. I'm planning on using my built 400 out back and I picked up a hughes flex plate and adapter. However I'm now looking at my ly6 that cam from a 07 silveradoo out of a yard and I see that the motor already has the adapter installed in the center of the flexplate. Also the flex plate already has the bolt pattern for my 400 converter. How is this possible since it seams the factory installed these pieces? Any help solving this mystery will be appreciated.

Your ly6 came originally with a 4l80?

If you've got a factory crank adapter on there, it came with an '80. No other current production trans requires it

The 400 will bolt up correctly if it originally came with a 4l80
