So, I am looking to buy a 96 firebird v6 5speed. now how much wireing would it take to put an lt1 in it. could i just get a 96 lt1 harness plug it up and there i go or what all is involved. what if i went for the ls1 cause i already got one lying around..... so any info on this or pointers would be appreciated

Cartuning Turbo kit. Will be faster than an LT1 by a long shot with the v6 in it and bone stock still. (Assuming it's a 3800) That is if you want a drive around car, obviously a boosted v8 is going to be faster in the long run.

My car made 400whp bone stock, 97 firebird with the cartuning turbo kit.

more money/time/work than it's worth IMO

you can buy a lt1 car for under $5k, you can buy a clean ls1 car for a couple thousand more
