Default Fox Body LQ4/L92/T56 swap

A little background about me first... I’m 24 yrs old and currently deployed to Afghanistan. I have grown up around cars and racing my entire life. I decided I wanted to buy the GTM from Factory Five but realized that just wasn’t practical right now considering my budget and constant moving due to the military. My dad owns an auto salvage yard in Goose Creek, South Carolina and this is where i will resource most of my parts, odds and ends and whatever miscellaneous stuff I will need for this conversion. Now on to my plan, I have been reading as much info as I can about Gen III motors and think I have a pretty good grasp on what I want and need. I am going with a LQ4/L92 and T56 into an 87-93 fox body. I plan on running an Edelbrock Victor Jr. EFI manifold and throttle body, factory replacement forged pistons to maintain stock compression ratio for possible forced induction later down the road money permitting, and Manley forged h-beam rods. I have compiled a spread sheet of prices and parts for a complete setup. I’m trying to keep it under $10,000. If I have forgotten anything I may need, please let me know.

One question I did have about this setup, while reading the specs of the L92 heads, I read on gmperformanceparts that the max lift is .510 while the Thumpr cam I want to use is .573/.558 is this just a simple spring replacement to accommodate the higher lift or will the cam not function with the setup I have planned?

This will be a street car and weekend racer.

I'm not sure where your pricing came from for the AJE crossmember but I think you may have some good news coming. I bought their road race k-member with LS style engine mounts AND their trans crossmember less than a month ago. Total price was $557. Its about 50 bucks cheaper to use their standard k-member, I opted for the extra bracing.

I would shop around with some board sponsors. Also, get a cam spec'd by one of them. I didn' check your part number for the rockers, but make sure they are correct for the l92 heads.

When you get ready to start buying stuff, please ask around. Things you have listed are way to expensive and some stuff you don't even need. Also, always keep an eye out in the for sale section you can find some good deals there.

Yes, you will need to ditch the factory valve springs to run a bigger cam. The spring swap is the same as on a normal LSx head.
