Default project identity crisis

This is my current project, its what atarted as a 77 GMC crew cab with rust. I did a 1/2 ton conversion and slammed it, then did a satin black/orange scallop paint sceme but at 8mpg and rusty underside it was time for a change. I bought a driving 2000 silverado in oct 08 from insurance aution and cut it up. I have transplanted the firewall and front floor section from the silverado into my crewcab as well as the seats, dash, carpet, console, floor and overhead consoles, wiring harness and motor/trans combo. Its still a work in progress( sat doormant drom nov 2009 to nov 2010, but im on a roll now. Its coming together quickly and i hope to have it driving within a couple months. Finished itll have a 5.3L, 4L60E, ac, heat, ps, 4wheel disc, and all the creature comforts of a 2000. Not to mention a 3:73 12bolt, headers, drop spindles, rear load bags( it will pull a trailer afterall), and a nice soundsystem. It should make those hauls to the sand dunes to ride the toys much more enjoyable not to mention easier on the wallet. here is my link to a photo album with more pics http://s304.photobucket.com/albums/n...tity%20crisis/ thanks for lookin.

you know it, I love the looks of the truck, hated the 8-10mpg even after adding a 700r4 to the old carb 350. So I had the oprotinity ans $$ to buy the wrecked silverado and wen twith it haha, afterall cutting something up and going way outside the box is just an everyday thing for me.

I am hoping for better than 15-20mpg. I have a few friends pulling that in their silverados and the weight will be about 200lbs give or take as the weight of the 99+ silverados. One friend even gets 15mog pulling his dirt track car on a trailer in his 99 5.3 soo I hope to get similar. Im running headers, free flowing exaust, programmer,& free flowing intake to start so hopefully itll do good, not to mention anything is better than the 8-10 it used to get loaded or not haha

dont worry the pics will be flowing as progress continues, I actually did get some progress last couple nights but neglected to remember my camera. Just simply boxed my lower control arma and installed new bushings in upper and lower arms as well as new coil springs and drop spindles. Once the front suspension is complete and I have my steering shaft set up the front clip can go on as well as all items left to run aside from the fuel tank.

Thanks tig, ya the ol stude truck is a blast to drive even without luxuries like power steering, power brakes, ac, heat, wipers, or side windows haha. It does handle steer and stop good though being soo low and 4wheel disc. It may be a future lsx project even though ive wanted to keep it simple.

yes im happy with it, and its awsome to drive, hauls the trailer load of atv's back and forth to the sand dunes with ease no less. It always has attracted attention before but even more so now, which rules out doing anything illegal in it without getting caught since it sticks out like a sore thumb haha, but hey who wants to blend in when they can stand out.
