Gm 5.3 into 86 Buick regal Bought a 5.3 for 200 dollars and looking to install turbo. The motor is a 2005 model,( Is this a Gen IV?) and if so I would like to go to a cable throttle body. I bought a ls1 intake and fuel rails. Do I need to get a camaro wiring harness. Are all of the sensors i.e knock , IAC and everything the same. any info would help. Kenneth

Regal swap Wish I could answer your questions - probably can't. I think the newer LS motors had variable valve timing.

i love my dbw, it sure made cruise hook up easy it feels different but civil. you may need the fbody fead also. but i would consider keeping all of the truck stuff on it (if it's allready there) and buying a truck harness, pcm, tac and pedal. the cable only "seems" easier

What are the casting numbers on the heads and the block? You shouldnt buy a harness without knowing for sure if its a gen3 or gen4 due to the 24x reluctor(gen3) and 58x reluctor(gen4). The 2001 Cadi Escalade motors were gen3's with 24x reluctors and were dbw, the 97-04 Vettes were the same. Dbc installs easier but to use the car intake you will need an idler relocation bracket for the truck engine.
