i was just wondering if i need to modify the cross member in a 86 camaro, to accept a ls1 engine from a transam, thanks in advance

you need the correct mounts, if thats what you are talking about. otherwise no. might want to go check out thirdgen.org, what you need to know is over there. this is a good start.

buy swap mounts on ebay "ls1 motor mounts" get the 1" set back plates in 5/16 plate. Fits the engine in the original position and allows the use of the SBC style motor mounts.
