Question 69 Camaro motor mount and oil pan using a t350???

Yes I have researched my butt off on this just figured I would make a thread... I am doing an Lq4 with t350 trans.. my question is what motor mounts are you guys using to put the trans in the stock location. Also which oil pan to use without any issues. Looks like the 1in setback plates will put my trans in the stock location just need to confirm this... Thanks for any info

On my 3rd gen Nova, which is the same as your 1st gen Camaro, I used the Carshop 1" setback plates. This put my Turbo 350 in its factory location so I was able to reuse my factory trans crossmember and driveshaft. For an oil pan, I used the Hummer LH8 pan without any mods.

+1 on the 1" set back type of plates. The motor (passenger side head) will be very close to the firewall. Well need to use the BBC heater setup cause the SBC or I6 heater core will not clear the head, or go after market A/C.

With my 69, the 1 inch set backs would have butted the passenger cylinder head right on the firewall, and I wasn't capable enough to do the install with these. Quite a few others have used these, however. I ended up using the Autokraft pan and plates. No clearance issues. I swapped my trans too, so I can't verify if it's in the stock location. Lot's of folks saying the 1 inch set back is stock location and autokraft claims their's in stock location. Definately no way for my stock heater to work with 1 inch set backs.

I have a 68 camaro. I used 1" setbacks with my t350 in the stock location. The small block heater core will need to be change to a big block setup.

Thanks for the tips guys..just trying to avoid issues.. firewall will be smoothed so not worried about the heater box. Clearance issues will be an issue as the car does sit lower being a prostreet
