Truck intake height? Is Edelbrok Pro-Flo shorter?
Hi Guys,
I am thinking about sticking the PRO-FLO from Edelbrock under the hood of my 1969 camaro. Edelbrock lists it as right at 10" tall. I am trying to figure out if it will fit and I have heard that the truck intake doesn't fit (misses by an inch or so). Does anyone have a measurement of the truck intake height. I scoured the internet for over an hour and am coming up with nothing.might fit.
Thanks,
Chris

i'm running an LQ4 with the pro flo manifold in my 68 el camino. i believe the truck manifold is in the neighborhood of 11 or 11.5 inches tall.
quick note about the pro flo:
i'm running dart heads, a texas speed 228r cam and hooker long tubes along with 39# injectors. I'm also running a 3k stall converter in a 4L80E with a 9" out back-- i've got a good amount of drivetrain loss. That being said, the guy who tuned my car (Rick from Synergy Motorsports--well known on here) got 393whp out of my car and 351 ft lbs. He really noticed the heat soak of the manifold and the loss of low end power. He believes that my car would likely see an additional 5-10whp and 30-40 ft lbs down low with a stock truck or vette manifold. i recommend pursuing other routes before going with the pro flo. It definitely looks awesome, but isn't the best for power. I've gotten tons of compliments on the looks of my motor tho, so i guess it really depends on what you're after.
