Default 99 V6 to LS1 swap fuel regulation

I've been fighting this battle since day one and would like to solve it once and for all. Those of you that have swapped, how are you regulating fuel pressure. I've been using a Corvette filter/regulator combo plugged directly into the rail, however I'm losing pressure due to having 2 filters (factory filter in factory location). Also, it looks goofy sticking out of the fuel rail. From what I see under the car, the Corvette filter/regulator will not work in the factory location because the fuel line at the outlet of the stock filter is the nut type, and the C5 filter/regulator has a female quick connect fitting. Please point me in a direction here!!!

Thanks guys!

Sounds like you have a pump problem. I've got the factory filter and the vette filter underhood and have no problems.

I'm trying to recall how I did mine. I know I put the 'Vette filter towards the back, I think where the stock filter was. I believe the quick release line on the car right there snapped into the new filter/reg (can't confirm that offhand, but I belive that is correct). From there I ran AN fittings and line up to the fuel rail for the pressure side, and cut and flared the return line to the tank right there. Used high pressure line and some clamps and haven't had any problems yet.

As stated, you might have other issues. Make sure you're old filter isn't clogged. Test fuel pressure and see what you have. Should be around 55-60. Good luck.

Check for a restriction in the return line if you don't find anything then try another filter/reg

Do these filter/reg give up the ghost once in awhile? Have never used one before now.
