lifted f150 wants a new heart
so I have a lifted 94 f150. it has a tired 5.0.
im not a fan of fords but I like this truck, but I want to put a chevy motor in it.
I can get a complete long block 5.3 from a shop for around 500 bucks. the owner is a friend of mine but hes awefully busy so im trying to do as much research as possible.
I want a over drive gm trans I was thinkin 700r4 but im not sure what kinda loads I can pull with that trans. then I need to know what kinda converter I will need. my rear end is the stock 8.8 but with a auburn pro series LSD with 4.56 gears
as far as trans x member im fabbing myself and will be running solid motor mounts.
then I need to address harness and ecm. I want to retain my factory heater controls, lights turn signals ect. I was thinking I was going to need to swap clusters but im not sure which one and how to wire it.
do they have a painless harness I can buy for my application or is this just too uncommon of a chassis for this swap?
so can anyone shed some light on my project, id greatly appreciate the help thank you
