t5 question
ok, So i know this question has been asked a million times on here but i think that it may be different with my situation. Maybe not but if it isnt just flame me i guess because i searched.
well i have a 2001 mazda miata i bought to autocross when one stomped me at an autocross. the car was supercharged and that isnt enouph. It needs an lsx engine.
So the thought is an l33 with all ls6 intake and acc or just corvette ones so it fits under the hood.
BUT what do you guys think about a mildly built t5 behind a l33 in a 2300 to 2500 lb miata. i know people go back and forth on how they blow and how they dont. But i figured being in such a light weight car that wont even hook up. That it shouldnt do to bad.
Let me know your thoughts on this.

That bell is a scattershield...doesn't seem too expensive to me. T56 scattershield is gonna be at least that much.
I had a buddy with a T5 mustang that held up for years and years with drag radials. Smoked a few clutches but didn't break the trans. Good luck!

I have also considered the T5 for my First Gen RX7 5.3L swap, pretty close to the same weight and power. But now I have smartened up and decided that a T56 is so much more cost effective in the long run. Two major factors to consider: 1. Pushing the max torque limit of the T5, so it will fail eventually. 2. Having a 6 speed is so much sweeter! haha
