Default T56 Shifter Re-location & Output shaft Upgrades

This is a Ford aftermarket tailshaft housing. It came on the aftermarket "conversion tranny" for the Fox body Mustangs. I'm only using this housing because I got a deal on it. Otherwise these housings cost well over $500, and wouldn't be an option! It comes with the provision for the Ford manual speedo cable and/or Ford elec. speedo, which is going to be changed to GM electric speedo. Also, notice how long the housing extends out. 1.25 inches is going to be removed from the end of the housing, so it will match up with the f-body length. Then it will be bored to fit the TH400 bushing and seal. This will allow the 32-spline mainshaft to be used. Also, the shifter location will be moved back by using the Ford setup, 3inches (from centerline to centerline).

Here it is just as it comes, untouched..

For comparison, here is the stock f-body tailhousing (side view)
