Default Tarus fan size

Can anyone list the dimensions of the Tarus fan/with shroud? What years are most using also. I tried the search feature but wasn't able to find the sizes or years. Thanks in advance.Hal

I haven't heard too much about the Taurus fans - LOTS of people like the Lincoln Mark 8 fan.

On two different cars now I have used duals from an Intrepid/300(whatever Chrysler giant 4 door). I wire 'em together and those things suck some serious air! My temp gauge drops hard when those fans kick in!

Never could find a Tarus fan I liked, so I used a 97 T-Bird fan works greak, and almost silent.

Mine is approximately (kind of hard to measure on my radiator) 21"X16" with the shroud. The assembly is about 5" thick including the fan motor. Came from a 95(?) Taurus wagon.

I agree on the 2 speed Thunderbird fan. I'm using the factory fan and radiator on my 97 Thunderbird, works great and cools fast.

Remember, all factory electric fans draw a lot of current so be prepared.

Default fan

Aren't the Tarus' fans 2 speed as well? What years were the best. I'll be looking at the Mark VIII as well as the T Bird fans. Its going in a 65 Cutlass that has a 25 1/2" wide downdraft so it looks like I have many options. Thanks for all the replies, Hal

The taurs fans are 2-speeds and are thinner than the mark ones. I have one and I think the years are 95-older. That body style...

Tarus's came with different sized fans depending upon years. They seem to use the same motor, but get fit into different sized shrouds and mated to different blades.

Lots of Ebay sellers list dimensions of the fans they are selling.

Best solution is to just measure your radiator then take a tape measure to the pick and pull. You can generally get the complete fans, with the relays, for under $20. I bought two of them before I got the right sized one. Strongly recommend grabbing the relays off the donor cars. I have seen people drop big bucks buying high amp relays new.

Lincoln Mark 8 fans are suppose to be more efficient than most Tarus fans. My local pick and pull didn't have many Lincolns, but they had a butt load of Taruses.

My Taurus fan dimensions are 21 1/2" x 17" x 4 1/2". I think the years are from 87-93. I bought mine from a guy on ebay named GT-Recycler. He cleans them up and tests them. He is more expensive than going a pulling it yourself, but mine literally looked new when I received it.
