vertical mounted tb
Has anyone ever tried to use a carb style intake with the efi ports and
mount a stock ls1 Tb vertical? I would like to try this I know ii will need to make an adapter that's no prob. I want to keep it efi but want the carbon look on the cheap.

maybe their are better options? what are you using it for?
you could always use a elbow on a "straight-up" style manifolds, or ive read you can mount LS engine intake manifold backwards aswell if you need clearance upfront(route your tb into your firewall cowl or even your vehicles interior?)

The older vortec 350 engines used a set up like that. My '96 Tahoe has the plastic spider intake with the fuel pressure regulator under the plastic intake. They cam from gm with the throttle body facing up in the center of the intake. You could just buy a k&n cold air it comes with the plastic 90 all the rubber hose connectors and huge *** air filter.

My plans are to make a short adapter for intake to t.b. then weld a small shoulder on the inlet side of the t.b. . For a filter I plan to cut up a round carb style air filter base add a sleeve so the filter assembly will drop around the t.b . Really like the look of the f.a.s.t , and med vertical styly t.b. trying to accomplish similar look.but much cheaper
